Access levels
Learn about the different user access levels for the Nivel platform. Understand the permissions for regulators, read-only users, guests, and operators to effectively manage and monitor policies and operations.
Default User Access Levels
The Nivel platform out of the box offers several user access levels to ensure that each user has the appropriate permissions based on their role and responsibilities. Below are the default access levels and their capabilities.
Admin
Description: Users with Admin access have access to all platform’s features available for Editor plus full control over Organization management, which includes user management and organization settings like updating notification emails settings for various types of events.
Ideal for:
Managers of the organization, who want to manage their users' access to the platform's features.
Editor
Description: Users with Editor access have full control over the platform's functionality. This includes the ability to add, adjust, and remove both zones and policies. They also have full access to all analytical data available in the system.
Ideal for:
City regulatory officials who need to manage and enforce micromobility policies.
Team leaders who oversee the implementation and adjustment of regulations.
Viewer
Description: Users with Viewer access can view all zones and rules, including the visualisation of vehicle locations on the map, including vehicle type and operator. However, they cannot modify any policies. They also have full access to all analytical dashboards, providing detailed, operator-specific information.
Ideal for:
City officials and staff who need to monitor micromobility activities without making changes.
Analysts who require access to detailed data for reporting and insights.
Guest
Description: Users with Guest Access have access limited to analytics only. They can view operator-neutral data but do not have access to the Regulation Map with vehicle locations and zones.
Ideal for:
City planners and external consultants who need general insights into overall trends and performance.
Researchers analysing micromobility data without the need to interact with operational details.
Parking
Description: Users with Parking access is limited to the map with alerts and reported vehicles within their operational zone. Users with that access can report poorly parked vehicles, update vehicle reports information and see parking overflow alerts.
Ideal for:
Mobility operators managing their fleets and monitoring compliance with city regulations
City representatives enforcing compliance with city regulations
Custom User Access Levels
While above default access levels should fulfill needs of most of the users, the Nivel platform allows customization of the access levels for each Organization, which allows higher level of control over who can see which data. An example of that would be a PTA Organization that manages 5 municipalities with 3 Operators that wants to give an external contractor a limited Viewer access to three of their municipalities with Operator-neutral view (data is not split between operators and visible as one).
